+++ INTRASOFT International awarded the Community Research
and Development Information Service (CORDIS) by the European Commission +++
ÉNTRASOFT International, a member of the INTRACOM Group,
was recently awarded the new CORDIS project, one of the key projects in
the area of electronic information dissemination, budgeted at 28 million
euros, following an international tender by the European Commission, DG
Enterprise. The contract has a two-year duration with a renewal possibility
for two more years.
CORDIS constitutes the basic means for information provisioning
and one of the most popular portals (http://www.cordis.lu) among the European
citizens and companies on issues of research, technological development
and innovation. It enables access to a wide range of information with
a reliable and comprehensive coverage in the five EU official languages
(English, German, French, Spanish and Italian) receiving approximately
one million visits per day. The information is available through a collection
of databases, an extensive document library, and by hosting targeted EU
R&D projects and services (such as FP6, ERA, EPSS, Presidency services,
Gate2Growth, IRC, Trend Chart, etc) all easily accessible via the CORDIS
web home page.
INTRACOM Group has been involved with the development
of CORDIS since the early days of the portal's existence by substantially
contributing to its establishment and diffusion as an electronic means
of information dissemination. Its involvement in the development of the
main information service system dates back in 1993 while, since 1998,
it has been responsible for the entirety of the portal's operations (management,
software development, environment operation, etc).
Within the framework of new CORDIS, ÉNTRASOFT International
- a prime contractor in Lots 1 and 3 and a subcontractor to the Belgian
company Trasys in Lot 2 - undertakes the provision of services in the
areas of: content collection-production and management, translations,
marketing & customer relations and development of infrastructure &
information dissemination systems. These three lots (out of five awarded)
represent the key-areas contributing to the overall successful and effective
operation of CORDIS and their award to INTRASOFT International and its
partners reflects the company's contribution in CORDIS' successful course.
The award of this contract further consolidates INTRASOFT
International's position as one of the main providers of managed services
in the field of information dissemination and e-government.
